I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Garrett Ace 250, seems like a nice all round detector for beginners. But as you say, they don’t come with a lot of bells and whistles. I’ve been drooling over a Minelab E-Trac, but I can’t justify spending $1700 on a detector. Maybe I should take a closer look at the Ace 250
